Biography
Sabrina Darnall is a dancer, choreographer, and personal trainer originally from Plymouth, Michigan. Her formal dance training began at Central City Dance Center, where she trained extensively for over a decade before pursuing higher education in dance. In spring 2024, Sabrina graduated Summa Cum Laude from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance. During her time at WMU, she performed works by acclaimed choreographers including Jae Man Joo, Tsai Hsi Hung, Kimberly Cooper, Jared Baker, Penny Saunders, Seyong Kim, Monique Haley, Carolyn Pavlik, Kelsey Paschich, and Jeremy Blair. She also served as a touring company member of Western Dance Project (2021-2022) under Kelsey Paschich's direction.
From 2021-2024, Sabrina was a featured dancer in Seyong Kim's work, "A Poem Written at the Cross," performing at dance festivals across the United States including The American Dance Guild Festival (NY), Palm Desert Choreography Festival (CA), KoDaFe: International Korean Dance Festival (NY), Roxey Ballet's RiverDance Festival (PA), Xing Dance Theater's City Dance Festival (DC), MADCO's Dare to Dance Festival (MO), The Movement Project: Cleveland Dance Festival (OH), Detroit Dance City Festival (MI), and Grand Rapids Ballet Summer Dance Festival (MI). The piece also received recognition through virtual presentations at The World Congress Dance Research by IDC (Greece), The Seoul International Dance Festival in TANK (South Korea), and The Milwaukee Fringe Festival (WI).
Following graduation, Sabrina joined ConteXture Dance Detroit as a company member under Artistic Direction of Tracy Halloran, where she performed works by Douglas Burkhardt, Alyssa Brutlag, Jillian Hopper, and Tracy Halloran throughout the 2024 season. Complementing her dance career after graduation, Sabrina obtained her Personal Trainers Certification from The International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) in 2024, specializing in muscle gain, weight loss, mobility and flexibility, and rehabilitation.
